Asking This Question Might Be Keeping You From Success

Hey Everyone 🙂

A few weeks ago I was speaking at a seminar full of Real Estate Investors (teaching them how to use the internet to further their Real Estate Investing businesses)…

One of the seminar attendees asked me a question that I get all the time and that I HATE trying to answer.

Come to think of it, I used to ask “gurus” the same question ALL THE TIME when I was first starting as a home business entrepreneur… But now I understand how the question was actually keeping me from seeing success a lot faster!

Watch the video to find out what the question is!

Ok, a quick point that I forgot to mention in the video

I’m NOT saying “don’t have goals” and I’m NOT saying “don’t test and tweak” what I’m saying is that you have to COMMIT to making the tasks associated with your business part of your lifestyle!

Of course you need to adjust your approach as you move forward in order to get the best results the fastest…but the truth of the matter is that most of us come at things by asking the WRONG question initially.

The question you need to ask yourself isn’t…

“If I do XYZ for a certain length of time, how much money will I make?”

Instead, say to yourself…

“I’m gonna make doing XYZ part of my lifestyle and commit to doing it (and getting better at it) everyday”

Hope that made sense 🙂

    Hi Devon,

Another great video! I confess I like to start my day with you because you always put a smile on my face. You are dead on with this video. Took me a while to quit “researching” and start taking action.

Thanks for the reminder to stay on task.

    All the best,

    HI Devon

    Hey Devon

What you said is so true. I often hear so many people ask the same set of questions over and over again. Actually what really matters is the implementation. What works for one person might not work as well for another. Most important thing is if you do not action, you do not see results.

Very timely Devon. I have heard you mention this before, but I am in the midst of it presently. Thank you for sharing and giving us encouragement to keep moving forward.

oh my god, when are people going to realize that nothing worthwhile comes easy including making money online? It’s not just that you need to make a consistent effort on a regular basis, you have to have something people want to learn more about…..

Great Stuff !! Sticking to a daily action plan with consistency will eventually bring the results I desire $$$ !! Thanks DB (-_-)

    Awesome stuff Devon,

I was talking with another very successful marketer the other day, and he said something right along these lines (It was Mark Hoverson)-
He said, “Dominating on the internet is the easiest thing in the world because most people don’t do a damn thing!”

To the “do-ers” go the spoils!

    Have a great weekend!

How do you gauge whether what you are doing is effective or not?

  11. 11:33 pm on April 9, 2011

    Hi Devon,

Thanks, great piece of advice as usual!!!

    Q. How do I get my ‘tags’ to look like yours? I have seen some great tags that do all sorts of incredible things but mine look pathetic

If you have time squeeze ‘Great Looking Tags’ into a video somewhere for me. I’m sure everyone else knows the right Plugin to use except me!

    Thanks Devon.

      Hi Stevie,

Great question! The template I use has a tag display setting to make mine look the way they do.

All is not lost though 🙂 You could go to and search for a WordPress tag cloud plugin or widget that will allow your tags to appear differently than your default template setting.

      To Your Success,

  12. Hi Devon, how are you?

Hope you are having a great weekend! 🙂

LOL at some moments in this video. You sounded like some hungry monster at the end of that second to last imitation LMAO 😛

I think it is also about slowly building up a routine and then following it through for a long periods of time. It is the small things that you do day in and day out that will make a big difference over time period.

Thanks for sharing it dude, much appreciated.

Hope you have an amazing super sexy day! lol 🙂

    Kind regards

  13. Hi Devon,

Another great video with essencial information put in your usual upbeat way that always raises a smile, grin or outright laugh to not only make us feel uplifted but that much more informed as well,

You have hit the nail on the head with this one (just like always) as no one can guarantee that when you follow a certain strategy that there will be an exact outcome when it comes to marketing on the Internet.

It’s exactly the same in any medium of sales, when you have something to sell all you can do is look for the best place to make your presentation (research your market) then present your offer to the people who will have an interested and hope they have firstly the disposable income to be able to afford it and then the desire to own it.

From there it’s all just a numbers game, because it’s all down to the decisions made by those people on whether or not they want to make the purchase and that is a variable that nobody can possibly predict, but obviously the thing that they can predict is you won’t make anything if you don’t make the offer in the first place.

If learning was the the only thing that mattered, we would all stay in school up until the day we retire, but instead we leave school after some 10-15 years of our early lives to spend the next 40-50 putting into practice all of those things we have learned to earn our living.

So if you are new to Internet marketing then I remember when I was in school that the best teachers made thing interesting by having an upbeat and engaging way of emparting the knowledge that their students needed and in my view Devon has that in abundance.

Keep up the good work Devon

    Hey Devon,

Great post. Further to what you’re saying, I think the key is that you learned to enjoy exercising. When you enjoy something it becomes part of your lifestyle.

So the thing is to enjoy the process, so that it becomes your way of life, and then as you said the results will come because of consistency. We can’t know what people enjoy and respond to until we’ve “practiced in public” as Tellman says.

Thanks for another pearl of wisdom there Devon.

    Speak soon dude.

  15. 12:47 am on April 11, 2011

    Hi Devon,
As always I learn alot from your videos but this one you left out one important item “CONSISTENCY”.
If you are not consistent you won’t get very far very fast!
