If you’re reading today’s blog post, then there’s a good chance that you’re doing so while I’m sitting in a courtroom for Jury Duty.

I can pretty much tell you that I’m gonna find the person GUILTY (unless the person on trial is a really attractive woman… then I’m gonna find her INNOCENT and give her my phone number!).

Anyways… I wanted to leave you with a little bit of wisdom/knowledge regarding building a
REAL BUSINESS and making REAL MONEY in this world of ” internet home based businesses”.

Hopefully you found today’s video informative/helpful 🙂

And hopefully you now understand the difference between a “biz opp” and a real BUSINESS!

As Always…

    Hi Devon,

When they want you for Jury Duty, just say you can’t go because you are
Self-employed and it would be a Hardship for you to go. It works for me.

    Hey Devon,

Thanks for your straight talk and your perspective on what it takes to succeed. I appreciate a straight-shooter.

  3. Thanks Devon! What a wake up call! This is a business!

  5. 5:57 pm on October 23, 2012

  6. 6:00 pm on October 23, 2012

Trust comes from honesty, and it is great to listen to you as an honest person. So, I trust what you have to say about business. As Barack Obama is putting Americans back to work, so are you promoting us as American home business owners. For me, WDC is 100% business. Let the rest of us know what the testimonials you received came from. Their success stories need to be told, not just the end results. That would help everyone of us out here to walk the talk and be successful also. FORWARD.

    Hey Devon,

As always it’s refreshing to have someone say how it is without all the fluff. This IS a business and people need to realise this otherwise they will only be deflated and say “this doesn’t work”. I think once they do, their mindset changes and then and only then will they see start to see results and be able to say “this DOES work”. Once again, thanks for your honesty and being one of the good guys that really cares.

    Devon, Thanks for being real.

Hey, this is great advice. I think some people view a home business as a supplementary income, so it never really goes real far. You reap what you sow.

Very few people in this industry are willing to just shoot straight and tell it like it is. I appreciate your approach, it’s very refreshing! Thanks~

  12. Hi Devon,

Another great video telling it like it really is, a pity so many other Internet marketers aren’t willing to reveal this in their promotions (although they don’t because that would see their sales plummet)

Yes, you have to treat Internet marketing as a business which means the moment you turn your computer on, you need to think that you are “at work” as that’s the difference between success and failure.

And yes that does mean you do need to Work to make it happen, but it also means you will be working for you rather than someone else so you get to keep all of the profits generated rather than just getting the scraps from an employer.

That starts by building a business for yourself, Devon mentions Biz Opps and these are not an either – or, but go hand in hand, but building your own business First is the only way a Biz Opp can really work for you.

What I mean is you start by building you own web presence (Website) then your build your list, build your online credibility, build your list, build your online business branding, build your list and once you have that done, you can Plug-In to it whatever biz opp you think will benefit you And your list subscribers

Oh, … and did I mention Build Your List ???

I mentioned building your list so much because that is the key to everything – having a list of contacts to promote your offers to, and the bigger that list is, the more income you can make.

You see all of these Biz Opps where they claim they made XXX thousands literally overnight, you then see a few dozen testimonials from elated customers with similar results and find it so compelling you jump on it.

But if you’ve just got started then you’ll find you don’t break even let alone see any profits and move onto the next Biz Opp in hope that one will do the trick for you, but the only difference between you and that Biz Opp owner and his elated customers is, they all each have an e-mail list of hundreds of thousands – and you don’t. (yet)

So all you need to do is get Your Own website online, sort out and autoresponder, slap up a page with your opt-in form code on it, create (or obtain) a digitally downloadable sign-up incentive (Bribe) that you yourself would gladly pay at least $100 for – Ouch

(keep telling yourself the money is in the list, the money is in the list, I’ll get it all back and a lot more eventually, the money is in the list, the money is in the list)

And then tell as many people as you possibly can about this wonderful and Highly Valuable gift you will simply Give them for visiting you website today !!! (on the opt-in page say what it’ll do “For Them” before you tell them what it is or does, followed by “just enter your name and e-mail address so I’ll know were to send it”)

Once you have that in place you can then think about Biz Opps, but totally ignore the income claims and look instead for the Value it will bring for your subscriber directly (or indirectly if you purchase it) if that is only the money claim then just say, no thanks – Next!!!

    Hope this helps

If you don’t know how to get your own website online or any of the other stuff I mentioned, go sign-up for Web Copy Cat (there should be a link for it around here somewhere)

  13. You said a mouthful, the newbe that buys the $47.00 product that promises to make him
$20,000.00 a month is in such a mental state that he can’t see the forest for the trees.
By the time he realizes this product is not going to make him rich, its to late, he has invested
everything he has and everything he can borrow, because he was promised the gold at the
    end of the rainbow.
The image he sees in his mind is starting to cloud up and depression overtakes his ability to
think correctly, now information overload has him doing nothing except blaming others for
his bad judgement. Then he sees a way to achieve his goals, so he picks a coaching program,
sells his soul to pay for it but still failed. Now he’s not blaming others but himself, for the first
time in his life he just can’t seem to turn this downward spiral around.
That describes what most newbes go through before they finally except the fact theres no
magic bullet or push button product out there, the ones that don’t change their mindset,
usually quit. They have to, they have nothing left, but the ones that have the backbone
to withstand the breaking in period and make a decision to make this happen for themselves
will finally start to see results, slowly.
