Ok, as you’ve probably noticed, the video below is sideways.

Why is a sideways video on my blog?

Did you get the lesson?

What are your thoughts?

Are you gonna go out and make your own “sideways video” today?

Feel free to leave a comment below and be sure to stay tuned later this week for something special I’ve got for you.

To YOUR Success,
Devon Brown

P.S. I’d like to thank my student, Terry Head for the the originator of the imperfect sideways video and being the inspiration for this blog post!

P.P.S. I am NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT, NOT telling you to intentionally put out broken crap! I’m telling you that imperfect action (and doing your best) will ALWAYS trump you waiting until you “think” things are perfect!

    Hey Devon,
sometime recently I mailed you back about why you (and I am not ‘picking’ on you – I merely felt you would read my email where others probably wouldn’t) never gave a chance to people with low incomes or even no money at all to get the one on one coaching you offer such as the one you mentioned here. If you recall, I said something along the lines of “Why can’t you give a chance to a Spartacus” or some such late night, tired drivel.
Well, it is becoming clear to me – and I assume anyone else who pays attention – that some of the gold nuggets of your coaching comes through in some of these video posts. Thanks for that. It is nice to get some benefit and guidance when you can recognise it being offered, and kinda fun to figure out that it is being offered without it being blatantly pitched as coaching.
Just wanted to say thanks for that, and here’s to all our success!

  2. Hey Devon,

So many people think that everything needs to be perfect before they launch and it is just not the case. The faster you can get your stuff out there, the more money you will make in the long run. Sure you can tweak things once they are up and running, but they just need to be up and running, NOW!

Thanks for the lesson Devon and have a good one!

    Hi Devon,

Love the video and it is so true! We hesitate to get stuff out there because we don’t think it is good enough and then the result is the magic never happens. Thanks for the reminder. I haven’t fixed the theme on my new blog yet but I am driving traffic to it today.

    All the best,

  4. Good point, good timing. THANKS

  5. Hi Devon ,

Hey man I agree with ” taking imperfect action” keyword ACTION ( love Tara coughing there)
and just Roll with it .As marketers we get sooo caught in the ” paralysis” of fear of not good
enough that we forget the most important thing K.I.S.S ( Keep It Simple Stupid). Thanks Devon.

  6. Great lesson Devon! I turned my laptop sideways to watch it jk jk

  7. Great video, do you know a good chiropractor..

My first video went up on Sunday, far from perfect, but it is there it is for everyone to see.
    Thanks for your great advice,
    Steve Love

  8. Hello Devon,

I agree 1000% with the fact that if we wait till everything is perfect be it a squeeze page, sales letter and all the way to the thank you page, if we wait till we get them ‘ perfect’ we may as well go back to Farmville and drill for oil …LOL.

But it is a rough hurdle to get over for some, I know it was for me. But I am living proof it can be beaten and it does not mean we are or that we are going to or that we have to skimp on quality.

I am fortunate to have a great mentor, good friends and people that are willing to take a look at things for me if I have a concern. And since I threw away my ‘ pull up training pants’ and put on my big boy undies, I can except constructive criticism and don’t let it get into my emotions when someone is helping me out by pointing out the flaws, errors, mistakes or what ever you want to call them in my works.

Yes it was a hard pill to swallow but I have accepted the fact … I ain’t perfect, if I make a mistake it is not the end of the world, just fix it… and if I kept waiting till I got things perfect ( we are our own worst critics) I would probably still be working on my products I released last year instead of making money and building my lists with them.

I think for you to do the sideways video was ASS KICKIN’ Big Pimpin’ and since it appears that Terry is new to our world it is so cool for you to do this. ( Pretty funny as always too)

    To your continued success,

    David Caudill

  9. Devon,

This is authentic and timely. Thank you!

Awesome lesson Devon. I think it’s really important to understand this one especially if you are a working mum trying to earn extra money in your spare time. Perfection takes a long time when you only have an hour spare a day to work on it. As always you give real advice to real people – love it.
