The TRUTH About Being Camera Shy

Happy Friday Everyone!

In today’s Friday Fun Video, I want to share with you a conversation I had with a client the other day.

This particular woman LOVES personal development and has a great message. So I suggested that she start using video marketing to get exposure/drive traffic.

She expressed to me that the reason she doesn’t want to do video marketing is because she’s not comfortable with the way she looks.

Here’s my advice to her!

So, to recap…

Video marketing is about BEING YOURSELF and letting your personality and your message come through… NOT about how skinny you are!!

Don’t let the things that YOU think are imperfections get in the way of you getting your message out to the world!

  1. Righto!

NO ONE is watching your video to look at you. They’re watching the video to learn from what you have to share!

I always knew you had an assistant (mostly because you always ask about time) but I never knew she was holding the camera. She has one very steady hand.

  3. well said , there are too many people that put on a front, that do not think others can see past it.

    Devon,
You’re real, down to earth, pretty damn honest and have great content. I value that and as you said that’s why we’re watching/listening to you. I don’t care about your white t shirt or that you’re sexy (or not LOL).
And to be fair you’ve gotta turn that camera to put a face on Tera to alleviate our suspicion that she’s a marionette. robot or just a virtual audio voice dubbed in.
ps Thanks Devon (and Tera) for the passion you exhibit in helping us to succeed in this IM business as you are. That’s paying it forward! Dr Tim

Hey Devon Brown is on a video… gotta see this! LOL

  6. Thanks for those words of enlightenment Devon. You just described who I am also.
I am reallly camara shy because I am conscious of my imperfections
like being over weight by 30lbs.

I believe this will be the biggest hump that I will have to get over.
But inside I am telling myself “you have to get over this” “You have
no Choice” “You Must do this”

Quit making up stuff!! You do NOT “like to cuss a lot” – that does not fit your profile so far. You may slip one out now and then but NOT “a lot” and that’s okay!! People do read right through what isn’t real but they will let exaggerations get by so I guess you can pass go now!!

Hi Leah ~ this is actually Tera… Devon does cuss a bit. Not over the top but has quite a few slips.

Love your “any hoo”. I’m from Texas and it resonates with me. LOL

    Great video Devon,
very true what you said the people that relate to you care about the message that is being told and where it is coming from. People don’t care about the exterior tell your message from the heart and show your passion and people wil love your message and listen to what you have to say!

I too had to overcome some boundaries with the camera, but the more you do it the more comfortable it becomes. Step outside of your comfortzone!!

    Wishing you great success!

    Hi Devon,
Tera forward the link of this video today. This video is a great motivator to start to use my cam that I received from you right today! I’m shy for those things and you have taken away the one and only excuses that I had: not having a camera 😉

    Regards, Irene
