Hey Everyone!

Ok, so if you’ve been on my list for a while, then no doubt the first thing you thought to yourself when you saw today’s blog post was “Wow..Devon’s Website looks TOTALLY DIFFERENT!”
YES! As you can see, my website has undergone a massive face lift. But there’s something I want you to notice about this “massive face lift” which you won’t be able to notice in a few weeks. The thing I want you to notice is that there are some GLARING MISTAKES on this site!
But there’s a VERY IMPORTANT BUSINESS LESSON to be learned from all of the glaring mistakes on my blog. CLICK PLAY on the video below to discover this lesson for yourself.

Here are just a few of the “Glaring Mistakes” that occurred when my new blog went live.
Some of these may STILL not be fixed yet – hahahaha
1. If you click on the “About” tab – there’s no information there
2. If you click on the “Get Featured” tab – there’s nothing there (although soon we’ll have the ability for you to submit content to this site and get feature so that you can siphon traffic from us!)
3. The opt-in box on the right hand side of the page was taking people to the wrong place
4. There are supposed to be banner ads in the “Check Out Our Sponsors” section on the right
hand side
5. There is supposed to be a “make money online” banner ad below the “Latest Tweets” section – but instead there’s some nonsense about “Shakeout.org” (which is a site about earthquake drills)
6. I could keep going.. but I’m sure you get the idea.

The point is simply that (as my mentor used to say): “YOU DON’T HAVE TO GET IT PERFECT…JUST GET IT GOING AND FIX IT ALONG THE WAY”
NO! He’s not saying to deliberately put out crap! He’s just saying to take the most awesomest “imperfect action” you can take, and to implement stuff as quickly as possible!
Remember that in your business and I PROMISE that you’ll start seeing the results you’re looking for MUCH FASTER.

    Devon….I’m That Guy who wants everything perfect before I do any marketing….it’s just an excuse to not face possible failure (or success?) It’s easier and safer to plan than it is to take imperfect action…..I REPENT!!!

    Devon been on your list and following you for awhile now man keep up the great work you do. Your videos and blog post are the best strait up in your face approach. Man every body in internet marketing need to be following you they might learn just what it really takes.

    It would have literally taken me more time to do the video and this blog post instead of actually fixing everything you mentioned.

    But I get the idea of “don’t get it perfect, just get it going”.

    (I’ve heard that from Dean Holland the first time, then I think he heard it from Alex Jeffreys and AJ probably heard that from Rich Schefren or Jay Abraham)

    Anyway, I love your humor and your actions man, I’m just like that when stuff is not 100% ready (better fix along the way instead of bitching about it and try to make everything perfect all the time and get stuck at whatever you’re doing and NOT make any progress).


    PS. The new theme looks sick man, congrats!

    Devon…Since I got involved with Web Copy Cat, I have been totally in awl of the precision (comprehensiveness) of your training videos and articles. It makes me breathe a sigh of relief to know that even the pro’s in this business are not perfect. You posting the errors in this blog has set a lot of people FREE to move on without fear. Way to go man.

    Awesome theme!

    I hate technical stuff.. Sometimes, I waste whole lot of my time with technical problems, instead of focusing on the marketing side of business..

    What will you do if you are not experienced with computer stuff but no money to outsource?

      Honestly, Tom ..I am HORRIBLE at the technical stuff. don’t do any of the technical mumbo-jumbo myself.

      Here are a few ideas that might help.

      #1. Be EXTREMELY crystal clear about the MOST IMPORTANT thing(s) you need done – not everything, just the most important stuff that is CRITICAL to you getting to the next step. If you’re only trying to do a few critical things, it might not be as expensive as you may think

      #2. Ask a friend for a favor (that’s what I used to do all the time)

      #3. Plug into a system like EasiestSystemEver.com or WebCopyCat.com where all of the techie stuff is handled for you

      Hope any one of those helps 🙂

    Excellent video as usual, and yes putting things out there before you get everything complete is no bad thing at all.

    The most important thing is to get the squeeze page up to start building your list, from there you can write up a few follow up message series detailing the benefits of what your product will bring to a purchaser doing each message on one specific benefit, works quite well for eBooks and absolutely superb for software tools 🙂

    This approach has three distinct benefits in that it creates buzz with prospective buyers, it puts a deadline on you for getting it finished on time so you become more focused and it makes you accountable to your subscribers.

    I think all the “Gurus” call it a pre-launch, so now when you see a top marketer doing a pre-launch you’ll know what’s happening behind the scenes 😉

    Devon..WOW! If you needed examples for this lesson’s subject matter you could have contacted me. I would have been happy to give you the links to OUR websites!lol When you first launched this a few days ago my wife happened to be watching with me. The first thing out of her mouth was, “Look Honey, Devon’s new site has mess ups just like ours!”
    Way to go Bro. She’s feeling pretty good about herself know, Thank You!
    I also told her that as long as Devon’s video trainings are there, the bloopers won’t matter, they can be fixed. Devon’s old site was awesome, so I know this new site when finished, will be awesomer. BUT….
    This brings me to my real question as a business person. Why would you as a business person decide to give an entire facelift to something that wasn’t broken? Does this new template allow you to build on something that can be more powerful in the future? Your decision making process is what I’m truley curious about as business people. I hope your not taking yourself out of the equation for branding RenegadeSuccess, I noticed that right away.

      HAHAHA – Tell your wife that she’s very perceptive 😉

      Actually, to answer your question, the reason I’m changing it was because the old site theme wasn’t set up well for SEO or Affiliate Marketing from the blog. And I figure that since I’m already putting so much content on the blog, that I might as well change up the theme and get the most out of it.

      also – I want to turn the site in to more of an “Authority Site” that really provides a crap-ton of content for internet home business entrepreneurs (even more than I already do)

      I’m not taking myself out of the branding completely – I’m just not going to be the “central focus” . YES – I will still be all over the place (I love the camera too much to not let myself be a focal point – hahahahaha). But overall, nothing was “broken” as much as it was just time for a change
